My name is Natalie Johansen and I am excited to be teaching Second Grade at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School. I received my degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and my teaching certification from Concordia University-St. Paul. For the last five years I have been the Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. Prior to that, my husband and I lived in St. Paul where I was teaching at Fraser Academy.
I grew up in the Diocese of Lincoln, attending St. Peter’s Elementary and Pius X High School. I was blessed to be able to complete my student teaching at Annunciation in South Minneapolis. Catholic Schools hold a very special place in my heart and I’m looking forward to fostering that in my students this year!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter, cheering on my husband at Grand View football games and chasing around our two rambunctious dogs! I am looking forward to a very special sacramental year ahead!
My name is Susie Biley, and I am blessed to be teaching 2nd grade at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School this year. I earned my Elementary Education degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Go Big Red! After teaching in Nebraska for 6 years, my family moved back to Iowa where I have taught for 16 years in the Des Moines Diocese.
Spending time with family is what I love to do when I’m not working. My husband, Steve and I live in Grimes. As empty nesters, we cherish the moments our kids, Trevor and Brigette, come home to visit.
Second grade is such a special year as your child will be celebrating their 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion. I look forward in helping your child learn and grow academically and spiritually.
