Hi, my name is Linda Dvorak and I will be teaching 4th grade this year. I was fortunate enough to teach 3rd grade last year at St. Luke’s while Mrs. Madison was home with her new baby. I truly enjoyed working with the students and staff! I retired 4 years ago from the Eddyville-Blakesburg School system after being in the public school system for over 30 years as a teacher associate and then as an elementary teacher. I have my Elementary Education degree as well as endorsements in Special Education, Reading, and English/Language Arts. I taught in a special education Resource Room for 6 years, 7/8 English for 1 year, and 5th/6th grade for 13 years. I also served as Lead Mentor for our district as well as an instructional coach.
My husband, John and I moved to Ankeny from Oskaloosa due to a job change for John. That’s when I retired and spent the next four years subbing for North Polk, Johnston, and St. Luke’s. Our daughter, her husband and daughter live in Johnston. Our son, who is in the Air Force in San Angelo, Texas, and his wife are expecting their first in December! John and I are members of St. Luke’s parish and are enjoying getting to know other parish members. We love to bike, walk, and watch our granddaughter on the ice. She is fourteen and an avid figure skater. I am so excited about being in the classroom again! I am looking forward to working with and challenging an amazing group of students.
