Hello! My name is Morgan Krapfl. I am so excited to be the new 1st grade teacher at St. Luke’s the Evangelist! I cannot wait to be teaching in a brand new school. There are so many things I look forward to in the new school. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all the families. I can’t wait to help shape the school into the great school and community it is destined to be. I am also excited to have a classroom and school that has the latest and greatest technology.
I enjoyed attended catholic schools growing up in Cedar Rapids and have cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. I taught kindergarten at St. Malachy in Creston, Iowa for a year before accepting my position at St. Luke’s. I attended the University of Iowa where I received a degree in elementary education with endorsements in reading and language arts. Having attended Iowa I am a huge Hawkeye fan!
In my free time I love to read. I enjoy cooking but having a major sweet tooth I am a huge baker. Someone told me my last name means baker in German. I don’t know if that is necessarily true but it is definitely fitting if so. I enjoy spending as much time with my entire family as possibly, although that seems to be getting harder and harder each year. I have an older sister Kelly, who is married and lives in Chicago and a younger sister Olivia, who will be a freshman at Loyal College in Chicago this fall. My parents, Mark and Jan both live in Cedar Rapids with my two dogs, Bailey and Josie.
