My name is Cathy Robey and I am very blessed to be teaching Art at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School this year. I am entering my 7th year of teaching with experiences both in Catholic and public education. I find that my true peace and joy reside in Catholic education. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Masters in Education degree (K-12 art endorsement), both from Drake University. In addition to my role at St. Luke’s, I also teach Technology at Holy Trinity School in Des Moines.
My husband Frank and I reside in Pleasant Hill with two of our children, Katie, a sophomore at Dowling and Andrew, an 8th grader at St. Joseph School. We have an older son Ben who lives in Ankeny and a son Brad, a Des Moines Diocese seminarian, who is in Theology I at St. Paul School of Divinity in Minnesota. My family attends St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Our family enjoys the outdoors with a recent summer trip to Yellowstone on a 4 day, 3 night backpacking trip (a grueling 23 miles!). Our whole family was able to go so that was terrific! I also enjoy reading, photography and cooking. I love my Catholic faith and instilling our Catholic values into my classroom.
